Solahart Northern Tasmania is proud to be one of Tasmania’s most experienced and trusted names in solar. For over 60 years, we’ve been helping local households and businesses harness the power of the sun, delivering reliable solar hot water, solar power, and battery storage solutions across Northern Tasmania, the East Coast, Central North, and North-West Coast.
A Solahart dealer since the late 1970s, we have installed and serviced thousands of solar systems, and some of our earliest installations are still operating today. Our long-standing reputation is built on genuine local expertise, high-quality products, and a commitment to outstanding customer care.
In 2013, Damien and Kirsty Pedder, both deeply rooted in the local community, took ownership of the business. Damien, who began his career as a plumbing apprentice with the original owners, brought his passion full circle by merging the Solahart and plumbing businesses, creating a seamless service for customers.
Today, our business directly employs 16 dedicated local staff and supports a strong network of contractors across the region. Our team is proud to deliver tailored solar solutions that stand the test of time.
Whether you're a homeowner, a business, or managing a large-scale project, Brendan Turriff, our Sales and Project Manager, can provide customised solar and battery solutions to suit your needs. We offer free, no-obligation site assessments to ensure we recommend the best system for your property.

THE overwhelming success of the Tasmanian Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme (TEELS) has helped thousands of Tasmanians become more energy efficient, while also providing a major boost to the local economy. This success is why Aurora Energy is excited to continue its partnership with Westpac and the Tasmanian Government to extend TEELS.
Launched 12 months ago, TEELS assists customers to make energy saving changes through the purchase of energy efficient products for their homes and small businesses via no-interest finance. The extension of TEELS will now see the scheme run until 30 April 2019 or until the additional $20 million finance pool is exhausted.
Aurora Energy CEO Rebecca Kardos said solar panels and battery storage systems have accounted for nearly 3,000 of the product requests received to date, while close to 1,700 Tasmanians submitted requests to upgrade their heating. “With winter just around the corner, it’s great to know that hundreds of Tasmanians have more efficient ways to heat their homes, and thousands more now have the same opportunity to do the same,” Mrs Kardos said. To date, almost $19 million has been approved by scheme partner Westpac to around 2,400 applicants, with nearly $13 million of this already injected directly into the Tasmanian economy.

Solahart Northern Tasmania have installed a 4.48kW / 16 Panel Optimized system on a home in Newnham. The world-leading REC Twin Peak 280W panels are individually monitored using SolarEdge Optimizers. The flexibility of the Power Optimizers enabled us to install 3 panels out the NW – Something not achievable with a typical string system. A few days following installation, we have seen this system performing beyond its capability, reaching and sustaining the maximum output of the inverter – 4.985kW. Now our customer has everything they need enter the battery market when ready.
