Solar Hot Water and Instantaneous Gas Boosting

Solahart has a great range of solar hot water systems designed to supply hot water free from the sun for you and your family to enjoy. By using the sun’s free energy you will make big savings of between 50% and 90% on your hot water energy use (depending on the model and your location).

For those times when the sun isn’t shining our solar water heaters include a booster, either a built-in electric booster, or, an optional instantaneous gas booster. Our gas boosted models offer a unique solution to back up boosting.  When a hot tap is opened, solar heated water flows from the solar water heater through a special solar compatible instantaneous gas water heater.  Temperature sensors within the instantaneous gas heater measure the incoming water temperature.  If it is less than a pre-set minimum, the instantaneous gas heater ignites and brings the water temperature up to the set level.  If the incoming water temperature is above the pre-set minimum nothing happens, and the solar heater water flows to the opened tap. This means you get the best of both worlds - the energy efficiency of a solar water heater with ‘on tap’ performance of an instantaneous gas water heater.

There are plenty of choices when it comes to selecting the right kind of solar water heater for your home. Our roof top models feature a space saving roof mounted tank, while with our split systems solar water heaters, the collector panels are mounted on the roof and the tank is located at ground level. Each is available with built-in electric or optional solar compatible instantaneous gas booster.

We also manufacture heat pump water heaters that don’t rely on solar panels and instead use amazingly efficient heat pump technology to extract the heat from the atmosphere and transfer it to your water. Heat Pump systems are ideal for homes with shaded roofs, or, those that have insufficient roof space available for solar panels. For example, where solar power panels have already been installed on the North facing roof.

For even greater energy savings, our range of solar power systems provide electricity generated free from the sun. The great news is that solar power and solar water heating reduces your greenhouse gas emissions and there are government rebates and incentives to help you make the switch to solar.
